Child Development Center

Construction of New Child Development Center is Nearing Completion: We are looking forward to opening in early 2012 and increasing our ability to meet the child care needs of our military and civilian families. Currently, the Child Development Center is looking at placement of families on the waiting list as well as those who have not considered using the program until now.

Hill Child Development Center (CDC) is open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is closed on Federal holidays. We offer care to 261 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years. Our high quality center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and certified by the Department of Defense.

The practices of the Air Force Child Development Programs are based on current knowledge of child development and early childhood education. We are responsible for supporting the development of the whole child, meaning all areas of development are considered inter-related and equally important. Our program acknowledges that children learn through active, hands-on involvement with their environment, peers and caring adults. We respect each child’s unique interests, experiences, abilities and needs, thus allowing us to be responsive to and appropriate for each child. Children are valued as individuals, as well as part of a group. Likewise, our program respects and supports the ideals, cultures, and values of families in their task of nurturing children. We advocate for children, families and the early childhood professionals within our programs.

A central waiting list is maintained for the CDC. A Request for Care-DD 2606 form is available to download for your convenience. This form can be faxed to our program (801)775-3158 or brought to us directly. For detailed information on the waiting list and enrollment procedures, please contact us.

Drop-In/Hourly care is provided on a space available basis at a cost of $3.00 per hour. Reservations for hourly care may be made up to 2 weeks in advance. All enrollment paperwork is available at the front desk and is required to be completed prior to the child participating in our program.

We look forward to serving you.

Give Parents A Break & Parents Night Out

The CDC supports Give Parents a Break (GPAB) and Parents Night Out Programs that occur every 3rd Saturday of the month. GPAB is free child care for active duty families and requires a referral from the Airman & Family Readiness Center (801-777-4681) along with all required CDC enrollment paperwork. The Child Development Center accepts children ages 6 weeks and 5 years and the Youth Center (801-777-2419) accepts children ages 6-12. Parents Night Out is $15 per child, available to families enrolled in the CDC and does not require a referral. Families may sign up for Parents Night Out starting the Thursday prior, to ensure priority is given to families with referrals and payment must be made to make a reservation.
