Torch Club - Torch club is chartered small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 9-12, focusing on character development. Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their development. Torch Club members learn to elect officers and work together to plan and implement activities in four areas; service to Club and community, education, health and fitness, and social recreation.
The Youth Center offers a variety of great activities targeted for children ages 9-12. Aside from our service-learning group, Torch Club, we offer daily programming activities that are developmentally appropriate and appealing to children of these ages. We offer reading challenges, chances for youth to earn "pre-teen of the quarter" status, "fit factor" points that can be earned through making healthy life choices, and special programs that change monthly such as photography or robotics club.
Friday Night Activities - Friday night activities are designed to give youth the opportunity to spend a fun and safe night away from home while engaging in various entertaining activities. The first Friday of the month is designated as a "pre-teen" hangout night for children 9-12, the second Friday is a "teen" hangout night for youth 13-18, and the third and fourth Friday night activities vary but can include things such as; Skate night, dances, karaoke, field trips to basketball games or musicals etc. More information can be found by contacting the Youth Center.
