What is meant by graduation?
When it comes to CCAF graduation, the word RADUATIONdepends on the context.
Most important: your actual CCAF graduation date is the date posted in VMPF and printed on the CCAF diploma and the CCAF transcript. It reflects the date you graduated and is based upon the day you were 'nominated' for your degree.
Secondly: the CCAF graduation class is based upon which "diploma printing period" you met. Diplomas are received in October (for those who met the previous Mar-Aug deadline) and April (for those who met the previous Sep-Feb deadline) each year. The "Status" date behind the "My CCAF Progress Report" link on AFVEC is your true and actual graduation date!
Thirdly: is the ceremony date. We hold one ceremony each year at Fairchild, typically on a Friday in mid-June. We invite CCAF graduates up through May each year to participate. Consequently, our graduates typically have met one of three three diploma printing groups and we may capture a few stragglers who may have been deployed or missed a previous ceremony. All participants in the ceremony must coordinate their plans to attend with the graduation coordinator.
When is graduation ceremony this year?
The next annual combined schools graduation ceremony is scheduled for Friday 18 June 2010 at the Base Theater at 1300 hrs. Ceremony details are sent to graduates 45-60 days before the ceremony. Contact counselor if you have any questions. Details about the previous ceremony, including grants and scholarship opportunities are available in advance upon request. Several of the seven $250-$500 cash awards (free money folks!) go unawarded each year because graduates do not apply. All graduates are invited to participate in the ceremony. However, please note your actual graduation date is not ceremony day, but rather the day you were nominated for the degree. Our ceremony includes all our graduates from CCAF, SFCC, Park U, ERAU, SIU and Webster U. We do not have CCAF-only ceremonies.
How do I get my diploma if I'm not able to attend the ceremony?
Graduates who are not able to attend ceremony may pick up their diploma the week following graduation ceremony or once the upcoming 'diploma printing group' diplomas are received. Graduates may also request presentation at the Unit through their first sergeant. Those PCSing/separating prior to ceremony may pick up diploma once received or provide a forwarding address to counselor. Unclaimed diplomas are generally returned to CCAF after 6 months.
How do I know when my diploma has been received?
Diplomas are printed twice a year depending on your actual degree award date.
Diplomas are received in October (for those who met the previous Mar-Aug deadline) and April (for those who met the previous Sep-Feb deadline) each year. The "Status" date behind the "My CCAF Progress Report" link on AFVEC is your true and actual graduation date!
Should your diploma be lost or damaged, contact counselor.
RESERVE/GUARD PERSONNEL: Your diplomas automatically go to the Education & Training component at your unit. Active Duty Education Centers do no receive your diplomas. However, we are delighted to counsel you, nominate you and invite you to our graduation ceremony.
