Books, degree, and a hatNew G.I. Bill- There is a new “Post 9/11 G.I. Bill” available to anyone who has served 90 days or more on active duty since 9/11/2001. It doesn’t matter whether or not you had the “old” G.I. Bill or whether or not you are still on active duty. One of the wonderful provisions of this new bill is that for those members who are still on active duty and don’t need/want to use these new benefits they can transfer them to their dependents. Yes, you read that right! An active duty member’s spouse and/or children can go to college on your GI Bill! For more information or to apply for the new GI Bill go to www.gibill.va.gov. You can also contact the folks at the Hill AFB Education Office (777-2710) and they can tell you more about it.
