ABOUT THE LIBRARY
The Gerrity Memorial Library at Hill AFB serves all active duty military, retired military, DOD civilian personnel and family members. A military ID or a CAC is required for registration and for checking out any library item.
The library’s collection of over 30,000 items includes bestsellers, fiction and non-fiction for adults, young adults, and children. It also includes audio-books, music, CDs, and DVDs.
Registered library users have access to an extensive collection of downloadable audio-books and ebooks. Free Wi-Fi access is available in the library as well as a 16 station computer lab.
New Library Resources:
Universal Class - We're pleased to introduce the Universal Class Library Edition, a powerful new online service designed for public library patrons. Universal Class offers over 500 online continuing education courses on a wide range of subjects/levels, available 24/7, instructor led and self paced. Areas of study include computers and technology, personal finance, crafts and hobbies, homeschooling, professional development, and many more. Come in or call us at 777-3833 for more information. Learn a New Language - Learn a new language with online software. We now offer Transparent Language Online, an effective and engaging language-learning program for libraries and their patrons. The program is accessible via the Internet and will be available to USAF Active Duty, Air National Guard, Reservists, Retirees, and their respective family members. AF civilian employees and contractors who are eligible to use a USAF library can also participate. All users must register in person at the Base library and be a registered library customer to use the service anywhere, anytime. EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT
The Library is committed to providing the necessary resources for educational pursuits. Test study guides (CLEP, DANTES, SAT, ACT, GED, GRE, Officer Candidate Test, Civil Service) are available in both print and electronic formats.
DONATE TO THE LIBRARY
The base library accepts donations in new or excellent to good condition. We're especially interested in popular fiction, best sellers, children's picture books, and popular dvd's. Please note that we don't accept textbooks or video cassettes.
LIBRARY PROGRAMS/EVENTS
Story Hour Wednesday @ 2:00 p.m. Bring your preschoolers in for a free program that helps to develop literacy. Be an active participant alongside your children and help them develop a life-long love of reading and libraries.
Library Hour for Homeschoolers Thursday @ 1:00 p.m. This program is for all families who home school. Bring your children to the library for an hour of fun and learning.
