NOVEMBER EVENTS
7 NOVEMBER, LASER TAG
Play the coolest system in laser tag! From 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. we will play indoors and outdoors. Cost is $5.
14 NOVEMBER, HANG AND KARAOKE
Activities include sports, video game tournaments, and Karaoke from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cost is $5.
15 NOVEMBER, GIVE PARENTS A BREAK/GIVE KIDS A BREAK
From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Give Parents A Break is free child care for active duty families that have a family member deployed and requires a referral from the Airman and Family Readiness Center and AF Form 1181. The Child Development Center cares for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years and the Youth Center cares for children Kindergarten to 12 years. Please register before 12 November. If space is available, GPAB will accommodate individuals without a referral. The fee without a referral is $15
21 NOVEMBER, SKATE NIGHT
From 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the gym. Children ages 6-8 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $5.
FIT FACTOR
Get up, get out, get fit! Earn points and prizes through this computer based program. Receive points for doing everyday activities like basketball, fooseball, and washing dishes.
YOUTH EMPLOYMENT SKILLS PROGRAM (YES). The Youth Employment Skills Program (YES) is an on-base volunteer program for high school students sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society. This program offers students an opportunity to learn valuable work skills, "bank" dollar credits toward their post-secondary education, and have a positive impact on their base community. YES allows students $4 in grant funding for every hour volunteered for an on-base organization.
APPROPRIATE DRESS REQUIRED FOR ALL YOUTH CENTER FUNCTIONS. Halter tops and spaghetti straps are not permitted. Shirts must cover midriff. Garments should not contain inappropriate slogans or advertisement for alcohol, tobacco, or include sexually suggestive content or text. Pants will not be worn in a manner that shows undergarments. Closed-toe shoes are highly recommended. Thank you.
SCHOOL AGE PROGRAM: Youth ages 5-12 years old can attend the Before and
After School Care Program that enhance children's existing skills while introducing
and encouraging new interest. Youth have the opportunity to experience seven activity
rooms such as Media, Arts and Crafts, The Lab, Imagination, Construction and Gym.
Boys and Girls Club of America and 4-H music programs are also incorporated into
daily activities. The School Age program is accredited by the National After School
Association. Meals and snacks are served which are approved by the USDA. Youth
are escorted to Hill Field Elementary School on a .15 mile walk. The School Age
Program also offers an twelve week studies Summer Camp.
OPEN RECREATION: Open Recreation membership is free. Youth ages 9-18 years
old can participate in the Boys and Girls Club after school which provides opportunities
for youth to develop physically, socially, and cognitively. Youth can experience
achievement, leadership, friendship and recognition through various programs offered.
Daily activities include foosball and pool tables, video games, computers, movies,
Dance Dance Revolution, video gaming bikes and FitFactor Wednesdays. Clubs are
offered year round and can include construction club, digital arts club, chess
club, sewing club, and Spanish club. Field trips, specialty camps and Air Force
sponsored events are offered year round. More excitement can be experience at
our Friday Night Events that include Pre-Teen Hang, Family Bingo, Themed Dances
and Skate Night, Laser tab, movie night, mini summer camps will be hosted every other week in the summer from 9 -1. Fees vary per week. Please call for more information.
ORGANIZED RECREATIONAL LEAGUE SPORT: Year round organized recreational
league sports are offered for ages 3-12. Sports include Basketball, Basketball
Cheerleading, Baseball and T-Ball, Soccer, and Flag Football. "Start Smart" is
offered for youth ages 3-4 and 5-6 (Flag Football) which is Parent-child group
that focuses on motor skill tasks that gradually build confidence in children.
Current Physicals are required at the time of registration. Youth will not be
permitted to register with out a physical. Volunteer Coaches are needed for all
sports and will be certified by National Youth Sports Coaches Association and
will have background checks completed to ensure highest quality of mentorship.
ADDITIONAL SPORTING EVENTS: Youth Sports conducts various sporting events
to include professional sanctioned competitions such as NFL Punt Pass and Kick
(September) and MLB Pitch Hit and Run (May). Air Force programs that Youth Sports
conducts includes World Wide Bowling (Winter) and Armed Forces America's Kids
Fun Run (May)
INSTRUCTIONAL CLASSES: . Instructional Classes are provided for youth ages
4 and older. For more information, please call 777-2419.
MAGIC CLASS. Youth ages 5-18 can learn magic tricks and sleight
of hand from Justice Crawford. Cost is $40 per student. Beginner and
Intermediate Classes are held on Tuesdays for 5-weeks from 4 p.m. to 5
p.m. at Youth Programs Building 883..
DECADES DANCE. Offers Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Cheer and Tumbling with Leah Jones in Bldg 520, old Hess Fitness Center. Cost is $40 per month.
DANCE CLASSES. Now offered with Leah Jones Monday through Friday
including hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap, and cheerleading/tumbling at the
Hess Fitness Center for ages 18 months to adult. Cost is $40 a month,
discounts per additional classes. For cost and more information, please

KARATE CLASSES. Are held Monday and Wednesday evenings for all levels,
$40 per month, with Master Gloria Olson. Ages 4-6 from 4:00-4:45, ages 7-18
from 5:00-6:00 at the Hess Fitness Center, Bldg 560.
SHOREI GOJU RYU KARATE. Master Eddie Porter offers self-defense classes, $40 per month, every Tuesday and Thursday evening in Bldg 520 (old fitness center).
PATRIOT JUDO. Is held on Wednesday and Friday from 5:30-7:30, ages 6-12.
Cost is $30 per month. Taught by Coach Don Chesmer in Bldg 520, old Hess Fitness
Center (upstairs).
FITFACTOR: Youth ages 6-18 & thier families can participate in FitFactor,
a web-based program that encourages young people to Get Up, Get Out and Get Fit!
You can earn points for being active for 60 minutes in a variety of ways - from
team sports, school activities to household chores. You will then record your
points on the FitFactor Website to achieve the five FitFactor levels. For each
level you reach you earn valuable prizes! The FitFactor levels are Energy (1000
points), Strength (3,000 points), Agility (8,000 points), Adventure (15000 points)
and Endurance (25000 points). In addition to the level prizes there will also
be monthly FitFactor Bonus Prize Drawings! If you are selected, you will be notified
by email and then have two weeks to go to the Youth Center and pick up your prize.

CONGRESSIONAL AWARD. The Congressional Award is a public partnership created
by Congress to promote and recognize achievement, initiative, and service in America's
youth. The Congressional Award provides a unique opportunity for young people
to set and achieve personally challenging goals that build character and foster
community service, personal development, and citizenship.Open to youth ages 14-18,
the Congressional Award is about challenge. It is a fun way to get more involved
in something you already enjoy or that you would like to try for the first time.
To earn the award, you set goals in four areas: Volunteer public service, personal
development, physical fitness, and expedition/explora tion. Our Teen Coordinator
will help you set challenging but achievable goals and plan activities to reach
