AFAS Loan Services

Apply online at www.afas.org. Once application is complete, call the A&FRC at (801) 777-4681 to make an appointment.

AFAS Standard Assistance may be either a no-interest loan or grant. It is intended to stabilize financial emergencies such as basic living expenses (rent, utilities, food), funeral expenses, pay/allotment problems, disasters, vehicle repair, etc. A budget is required and payment is made to the final vendor/recipient (i.e. landlord for rent, mechanic for car repairs, etc.).

The Falcon Loan is a no-interest loan to provide Airmen with expedited financial assistance up to $1,000. This loan is intended for emergency situations such as rent or utility bills, child care, vehicle expenses, etc. Less information is required to apply.

Emergency travel does not require an appointment if short notice. Please contact the A&FRC at  (801) 777-4681 for more information on emergency travel procedures.

For after-hours emergencies/travel that cannot wait until the next duty day, or if you are not within 50 miles of a military installation, please contact the American Red Cross at (877) 272-7337. Look for AFAS or other military relief agency locations near you.
